The palace is distinguished monument and a historical building. The nine-storeyed palace was built by the 17th century illustrious ruler of Ladakh, Sengge Namgyal. It is an imposing structure, though in ruins now, situated on a hill and commands a grand view of the Leh town. The building in grand Tibetan architecture is said to have inspired the famous potala of Lahasa, built half a century later. Namgyal Tsemo, the peak overlooking the town, are the ruins of the fortbuilt, by the king Tashi namgyal in the 16th century, as a royal residence.

Leh-Lamayuru-Rizong-Uley Topko

After early breakfast leave for Lamayuru (127 kms.), believed to be the oldest site where a monastery was founded during the 11th century AD. Lamayuru monastery is famous for the spectacular setting in the backdrop of the ‘Moonland’ feature. After sightseeing and lunch here, drive back toward UleyTopko, check-in at the Ulley Ethnic Resort, Rest of the time visit RizongGompa, Overrnight stay at UleyTopkoEthenic Resort.

After breakfast drive to Khardong-La (80 kms round trip), highest motorable pass in the world (alt: 18,380 ft.)On the drive back from the pass, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Indus Valley and the endless peaks of the Zanskar range. Leh-Pangong Tso (Lake)

Early departure (6 AM) for Pangong Lake (approx. 300 kms round trip) via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft.). Pangong Lake (alt: 14,500 ft.) is 4-5 kms wide and over 135 kms long, about two-third of which lies on the other side of the Indo-China Border. After sightseeing and lunch at the lakeside, drive back to Leh, reaching in the late afternoon / evening. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

The morning drive to Khardong-La (80 kms round trip), highest motorable pass in the world (alt: 18,380 ft.) and recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. After breakfast drive to Phey, the rafting points, commence 30 kms/ 3 hrs rafting till the confluence of Indus and Zanskar river. Afternoon leisure for shopping and get relax.
